David is a founding partner of Motteram Bowie and Ham accountants, helping establish the business in 1989. Prior to this, he worked at the Australian Taxation Office for 13 years, the last 5 years as a manager, in the investigations section of the ATO. David became a CPA in 1986.
David has a passion for helping to coach small to medium businesses so they can grow and prosper in the ever changing tax and business environment. He is an advocate of the use of new technology through accounting software programs like Xero, to help simplify the accounting process so owners can spend less time with compliance and tax issues and more time working on their business.
David is also is an expert in self-managed super funds and actively manages the tax affairs for a large number of self managed super funds held by Motteram Bowie and Ham.
Married to Vicki, David is a father of 3 adult children. David also has 3 grandchildren, all of who run rings around him. He is a life member, past president and currently a youth coach at the Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club, which takes up most of his spare time outside of work.
Jamie has been a partner at Motteram Bowie and Ham since April 2012. He became a member of CPA in 1997 and has over 30 years of accounting experience, having previously worked as a manager in the primary audit section at the Australian Taxation Office.
Jamie provides tax and business strategy advice to a wide range of clients in all types of industries, trades and professions and is committed to the sustainable development of client businesses.
Married to Jeanetta and father of 2 adult children, Jamies’ other interests involve all sports. He enjoys playing golf, going to the gym and supporting the eagles.
Matt joined Motteram Bowie and Ham in 2011, having previously worked in management accounting and financial reporting roles in the mining industry.
As a qualified CPA, Matt provides tax advice for businesses and individuals across numerous industries. He has a passion for working with small businesses to achieve their financial objectives by providing advice on taxation, start-ups, business structures, business planning and business improvements. Matt also has extensive experience in implementing and optimising the use of Xero accounting software in businesses.
Outside of work, Matt is an active member of Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club and loves to travel with his wife.
Sheryll graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a Master of Professional Accounting degree in 2001.
She joined the Motteram Bowie and Ham team in 2004 and quickly become a valuable asset to our firm. Her expertise in computer knowledge and programmes alike has made her a valuable team member.
Providing helpdesk support for Xero and Banklink software, Sheryll has become an advisor to our clients on the running and functioning of various accounting programs. Her expertise has been a great help to clients with a friendly, simple approach to fixing software problems/queries in a short period of time.
Sheryll is married with two adult children who have yet to leave the nest. Her interests include watching rugby (she’s from New Zealand originally) and other sedentary pursuits.
Nerelle has been the superannuation accountant at Motteram Bowie and Ham since 2004. Her attention to detail and love of all things superannuation make her a vital part of the Motteram Bowie and Ham team.
Nerelle has two adult children and keeps herself busy outside of work attending as many music concerts as possible.
Kassie has been a part of Motteram Bowie and Ham for over 10 years. Her friendly manner and interaction with our clients in person and over the phone has been a great asset to our business.

Kassie is in a relationship with Patrick, and her interests include going glamping, spending time with family and going out with friends.
